To maintain and repair current tooling.
Repair and maintenance of progressive dies. Fabricate new tooling for dies. Troubleshoot dies at press. Grind fit and assemble die components. Build and design progressive dies. Keep a clean and safe work area. Understand tool steels and production material. Must be able to work from blueprints to construct, alter or repair tools. Must be able to operate Tool Room equipment. Responsible for fabrication of tooling in stamping department. Maintain proper tooling records for preventative maintenance. Understand operation of the press. Understand the set-up of the press. Assist in Die changeovers. Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
Completed Tool and Die Apprenticeship. Minimum 5 years experience as a Tool and Die Maker. Blue Print reading. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of SPC. Ability to lift and move 90 lbs with assistance as necessary. Ability to push 200 lbs. on wheeled carts with assistance as necessary. Ability to use various inspection gauges. Must be available for mandatory overtime or non-standard or extended work schedule.
