Responsible for directing all team members mechanical engineering activities. An understanding of stress and thermal analysis is required to guide the engineers during product development. Project management skills are necessary to properly access a projects scope, timeline and cost. Ability to work closely with all functional teams during the project cycles.
Manage daily activities and provides technical guidance to an engineering team
Establish program schedules, cost estimates, and ability to manage technical projects that may include mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, quality engineering, sourcing, manufacturing engineering, and production.
Provides technical assistance to other organizations of the company as required.
Responsible to assure that development projects are completed within established timeframe.
Requires the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be detailed oriented.
Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in concept-through production.
Good organizational skills.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
Must be able to work in a quick paced environment.
Good follow-up skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Requires self-motivation and ability to complete projects within strict guidelines.
Must be flexible and adaptable to changes during the development process with ability to keep projects moving forward.
Proven ability to take design concepts into production.
Microsoft Project experience.
Knowledge of PRO-E Creo preferred.
FEA experience preferred.
Experience in the mechanical design and engineering of small electro-mechanical assemblies, portable radios, portable radio accessories, head sets, and small assemblies.
Knowledge of injection molded plastics, metal stampings and die castings.
