Human Resource Generalist - Only apply through official OTTO company site:

  • Our Human Resource Generalist will assist the Human Resources Director with employee relations, special projects and other related jobs as assigned.

  • Specifically, the Human Resource Generalist will:

    • Deal with daily employee relations issues of a basic nature.Refer more difficult issues to Human Resource Director.
    • Answers routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on employee benefits in line with written company policy on these matters.
    • Maintains personnel files in line with company policies and government regulations.Retain records in line with company record retention requirements.Also maintains, company employee medical files, I9’s and compliance files.
    • Provide Human Resource department orientation for non-exempt and exempt personnel on company policies and programs; signs up new employees for various programs.Introduces new employee to supervisor and personnel in the company as needed.
    • Maintain plant and office bulletin boards in an up-to-date and legal compliance manner.
    • Counsels employees on benefit plan provisions as needed.
    • Calculates and processes weekly headcount, Production headcount and reports for the President.
    • Responsible for all surveys such as salary, affirmative action, EEO and Veteran reports.
    • In charge of workers compensation claims and reports as needed.
    • Responsible for insurance enrollments and maintenance changes, and open enrollment.
    • Responsible for approving insurance premiums and bills to be paid.
    • File as needed.
    • Responsible for publication of monthly company newsletter.
    • Work with printing company for Christmas party photo holder, Christmas and Thanksgiving cards.
    • 401k administration.
    • Internal ISO 9001 auditor.
    • Participate on various committees such as ISO 14001, Safety etc.
    • Exit interviews.
    • Provide tours to outside organizations as well as new hire tours.
    • In charge of ordering all Wise Owl and OTTO wearables.
    • Maintain all FMLA and Non-FMLA leaves.
    • Maintain all Production performance reviews.
    • Maintain Halogen performance reviews.
    • Responsible for Wise Owl parties and Wall of Fame.
    • Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
  • What you’ll need to bring to the table:

    • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of Human Resource work.
    • At least 2 years college or equivalent, including courses in Human Resources management.
    • At least 2 years administrative or human resources experience.
    • Excellent personal computer, spreadsheet analysis, and word processing skills.
    • Tact, above average communication skills, ability to work effectively with both employees and managers.Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees.
    • Previous payroll processing experience a plus.
