  • Our Quality Inspector is responsible for performing first piece, incoming, in-process, and final inspection, and reporting results in a manner which fully describes the component part, subassembly, or finished product as required. Performing source inspection at a supplier’s location.

    • Perform first piece, incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
    • Develop and maintain piece incoming, in-process, and final inspection reports.
    • Responsible for the timely component part measurements of both OTTO and supplier submissions.
    • Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) – including developing and processing Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and performing part analysis as directed by MRB members.
    • Assist with calibration of inspection equipment.
    • Perform random line audits as directed.
    • Generate reports for government records.
    • Perform source inspection per government/customer requirements.
    • Perform certain process verification (i.e. solderability, seal tests, etc.).
    • Participate in the maintenance of OTTO’s ISO 9001 and AS99100 registration.
    • Effectively handle conflicting and/or changing priorities with minimal management involvement so inspection delays are avoided.
    • Assist with other duties as required or assigned.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • ASQ Certified Quality Technician preferred.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality Department of a manufacturing firm.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience performing surface plate layout inspections.
    • Must have a complete understanding of ASME Y14.5 (Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
    • Must currently hold or have the ability to obtain FAA Repairman certification.
    • Must currently hold or have the ability to obtain DMIR (Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative (DMIR).
    • Must currently hold or have the ability to obtain specific customer quality and/or inspection designations such as DQR (Designated Quality Representative and DSI (Delegated Source Inspector.
    • Competent in the use of common measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, thread gages, drop indictors, spring testers and optical equipment etc.
    • Working knowledge of AS9102 and PPAP requirements.
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14000 and AS9100 and SPC techniques.
    • Working knowledge of various SPC techniques.
    • Computer literate in all Microsoft office applications.
    • Must have strong advanced math skills and be detail oriented.
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills; must have a pleasant and helpful telephone manner.
    • Requires self-motivation and ability to complete projects with strict guidelines.
    • Requires the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Requires the ability to differentiate between colors.
    • Availability for nonstandard or extended work hours.
    • Bona Fide Occupational Qualification: Visual acuity test and color vision screening will be performed after offer/acceptance of position. Hiring is contingent upon a passing score of 20/25 (in both eyes) and passing of the color screen.
