Our Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for performing first piece, incoming, in-process, and final inspection, and reporting results in a manner which fully describes the component part, subassembly, or finished product as required. Performing source inspection at a supplier’s location.
Perform first piece, incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
Identify and implement the most appropriate inspection method (CMM or surface plate) for first piece, incoming and/or final inspections.
Develop and maintain various component and finished good inspection reports.
Responsible for providing accurate and complete inspection reports per established metrics.
Facilitate and participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings – including processing MRRs (Material Review Reports) to closure per established metrics.
Assist with maintaining OTTO’s calibration system – including conducting internal calibrations, scheduling external calibrations and assuring data integrity.
Prepare and present documentation packets for government and customer source inspections.
Perform certain process verification (i.e. solderability, seal tests, etc.)
Participate in the maintenance and improvement of OTTO’s ISO 9001 and AS99100 registrations.
Effectively handle conflicting and/or changing priorities with minimal management involvement so inspection delays are avoided.
Assist Quality Supervisor with implementing policies, procedures and improvement initiatives.
Provide training to Inspection personnel.
Assist with other duties as required or assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent.
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or Technician preferred
Minimum 5 years inspection experience in a manufacturing firm.
Minimum 3 years surface-plate layout experience in a manufacturing firm.
CMM operating and/or programming experience a plus.
Must have a complete understanding of ASME Y14.5 (Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Must currently hold or have ability to obtain FAA Repairman certification.
Must currently hold or have ability to obtain DMIR (Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative) certification.
Must currently hold or have ability to obtain specific customer quality and/or inspection designations such as DQR (Designated Quality Representative) and DSI (Delegated Source Inspector)).
Competent in the use of common measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, thread gages, drop indictors, spring testers and optical equipment etc. a must.
Working knowledge of AS9102 and PPAP requirements.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14000 and AS9100 and SPC techniques.
Computer literate in all Microsoft office applications.
Must have strong advanced math skills and be detail oriented.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills; must have a pleasant and helpful telephone manner.
Requires self-motivation and ability to complete projects with strict guidelines.
Requires the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Requires the ability to differentiate between colors.
Availability for nonstandard or extended work hours.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualification: Visual acuity test and color vision screening will be performed after offer/acceptance of position. Hiring is contingent upon a passing score of 20/25 (in both eyes) and passing of the color screen.
